Why I do what I do...
(Dr Beer's words)

I know I can make a difference
in the lives of many couples struggling, hurting, seeking and experiencing
repeated disappointments. In good faith many of you have listened to advice
that has not served you well and the cycle of failure goes on. I have four
grown wonderful children who are beautiful, bright and healthy and in
committed relationships. It would kill them and me if they were bruised and
abused with infertility and loss of hope that they may never become parents.
I weep inside when I see a message composed at 3:00 am by someone's wife and
companion, unable to sleep, seeking answers at the computer, on a mission,
knowing there is a problem, silently blaming herself, feeling saddness,
feeling guilt, fearing to hope for disappointment stands outside the nearest
door...and yet she never gives up.

I have a mission to provide the data that I know I can trust about this
problem and share it with all of you in a manner that can be understood, taken
to heart, and applied to each case emerging. With understand of the problem
comes healing, partial hope is restored and what courage is remaining
surfaces....and you try again. This time I can quote statistics of changes of
failure or success, this time you have names and addresses of patients who
have walked before you, this time it is different because I exist.

To travel the world as I am priveleged to do and to meet couples in their own
environment, to view their growing families, to see their businesses thriving,
to see a totally new look to their posture and the aura of their faces, to see
their need to tell me all about what it has done for them, to receive their
thanks in thousands of different ways is a tribute few on this earth ever
receive and I receive it often.

To work any other way would not work for me. I am a giant in my field but I
know the work place. I could have colleagues answer many of these questions
appropriately disguised and signed by me. I could lighten my load but the
time may be filled with other activities that do less good. If I did not do
it the way I do it know, everyone would know and be less satisfied.

Real people and committed people work hard because their spirit dictates this.
These are a few words of why I do what I do.
